#introduction I'm living in the woods in a tiny house with furry critters as housemates. Interested in permaculture, social ecology, solarpunk, cycling, astronomy, science, skepticism. I take lots of bike rides and walks in the woods. Climate and general ecological collapse serve as my daily mental and emotional background.
I do a bit of freelance graphic and web design to get by. Trying to keep it as simple as possible.
On Wednesday, March 9th the #TaipeiCycleShow as Asia's largest #cycling trade show opens its doors at #Taipei's Nangang Exhibition Center.
If it were not for #Covid19, I'd be at Zurich airport now, waiting to board a flight to #Taiwan in order to find and produce daily news at the show. Instead we have pre-produced two Bike Show Daily magazines remotely that will be published on Wednesday and Thursday.
I would have preferred to be there in person, but for now that is not possible.

An undisputed win for Tom Pidcock in the elite men's #cyclocross World championships race in #Fayetteville. He would not have any of the tactical games the Belgians tried to play with their power in numbers and went on the attack to win the race after a long solo, crossing the finish line in spectacular fashion.
Lars van der Haar wore down Eli Iserbyt in the fight for Silver.
Thus the Brits won the first and the last race at these Worlds.

The under23 women will race their #cyclocross World championship race at 8pm CET. The Dutch trifecta of van Empel, Pieterse and van Anrooij are the big favourites, but the course in #Fayetteville has already delivered some surprises.
As for the elite men's race, it will start at 9.30pm CET. A nice way to spend a Sunday evening.

@stux I grew up in the bollenstreek, and moved away to the north east. This one time I was crazy enough to cycle the whole 130km (m'n studentenov was niet geldig op goede vrijdag, je moet toch wat), and when, after 10 hours of cycling, I was suddenly surrounded by fields and fields of flowers, I started crying. I just knew I was almost there now.

In the side of the road, saw this linear arrangement of quartz stones. This could mean that years back there was a flowing water body flowing, later it got covered in mud.

After the Dutch podium sweep in the under23 women's race, Lars van der Haar upset the pre-race favorites from Belgium in the elite men's race, winning solo after a strong race. 2nd place for Quinten Hermans, 3rd for Michael Vanthourenhout. The rain did not seen and conditions looked pretty benign, really. #cyclocross #cycling

Today's the 2nd day of the European #cyclocross championships. The junior men have already raced today, with Belgium winning a first gold medal in the 4th race.
